Current Projects

Christina is currently compiling her poetry into a set of poetry books.

Elephant Guns will explore the idea of uncovering bits of one's identity through childhood nostalgia and the concept of home. Two of the book's poems were chosen for publication in the literary journal Persona for the 2010 edition.

Masking Tape is a collection of poems that will explore the conceptual contradictions that exist within sexuality. "Sex is impervious to reason and mocks the power of all."

The process of interacting with desires and sensual pleasures repeats in our lives and often controls our thoughts and actions if we do not learn how to use mindfulness and self-discipline. Delighting in these sensual pleasures is part of the human condition, it is an essential part of life - and the pursuit of pleasure is not meant to be smothered entirely. However, an over-abundance of ego can allow our desires to run wild and unbound, leading to consequences like eating issues, addiction problems, over-indulgence in general, infidelity and so on; my question is, where do we draw the line? Where, how, and when do we choose to indulge our longing, our fire, the natural and raw wilderness inherent within each one of us?

Masking Tape began as an exploration of the dangers that abound within using one's sexuality for the foundation of a fraudulent and brittle self-identity. It has now become a journey into the depths of desire itself, a exploit into self-acceptance, the blending of darkness with light, the ever-present search for balance and fulfillment through the very mechanisms that make us both (enlightened) human and animal.
